Camp Jump Start® Autism Adventure is a summer day camp designed for children ages 4-11 with an Autism diagnosis and their legal guardians. providing a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families in the community.  Meet other families who share similar experiences, engage in fun activities within a safe and supportive environment, and build a network of support and understanding. Our beautiful campground known as the Living Well Village just south of St. Louis and only 5 miles from highways 141 and 21 (Tesson Ferry Road).  Camp cost is donation-based: Families pay what they can, so no family is deterred by cost.

Camp Ondessank

Traditional Youth and Teen Overnight Camp

Camp Ondessonk provides youth ages 10-16 the opportunity to experience firsthand the beauty of God’s creation. Located in the Shawnee National Forest of Southern Illinois, Ondessonk’s summer camp programs include traditional camp, mini-camp, adventure camp, and equestrian camp. All of Camp’s programs focus on providing a fun and enriching experience for participants by encouraging them to participate in a wide variety of new and exciting activities.

Kemp Lake

Fishing and Hunting Programs for People with Disabilities

Kemp Lake Game Preserve is a unique environment that has been thoughtfully planned and built to allow disabled and handicapped individuals a complete outdoor experience. We host events for individuals, groups, and non-profits. Our events can include:

  • Guided fishing (bass, bluegill & crappie)
  • Guided hunting (deer, turkey, quail & pheasant)
  • Guided bird-watching excursions
  • Guided exploration in electric vehicles

Annually in July, Kemp Lake does a one day fishing event called Cast for Kids for youth with disabilities. Guided hunts can be arranged, or plan a relaxing picnic by the lake or a stroll down a trail. Contact Kemp Lake to make arrangements for your visit.

Special Journeys Travel

Special Journeys Travel Program for People with Disabilities

Special Journeys provides chaperoned tours for adults who need assistance traveling. Our goal is to provide fun, well-planned and reasonably priced vacations that are staffed with experienced volunteers and tour leaders. We are a local company exclusively serving those states in the Midwest where we can physically pickup and drop-off our travelers in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota.
