Lite Tennis Play Nights

Come play this new and user-friendly racquet sport combining tennis and pickleball. Lite Tennis is played with a soft, quiet specially designed and engineered foam ball that is hit with a tennis racquet on a Pickleball / Lite Tennis court. Scoring is simplified and it’s easy to learn. Lite Tennis Rules (You Tube).

Come enjoy this game with people of all ages, all abilities, and all skill levels. Event is open to ALL! Learn more about the game at www.litetennis.com.

Rec Providers/PIERS Providers Meeting & Celebration Lunch

Our September meeting and lunch celebrates the close of summer. Connect with fellow recreation providers while enjoying a complimentary lunch. Bring materials for about 30 people if you wish to share fall programs with the group. Our guest panel will discuss making intentional efforts to create lasting friendships among people participating in your recreation programs.

SCAVENGER HUNT AND NATURE DAY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. 

SAVE THE DATE: The MO Department of Conservation and the Recreation Council are partnering to provide an afternoon of outdoor nature fun. Registration and more details are coming soon.

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026
Time: 2-4 PM
Location: Tower Grove Park, East End of Park off Grand Avenue (map)

Although this event is designed for people with disabilities and their caregivers, ALL people are welcome. Come touch nature at a variety of stations including animal habitats, plant identification, leaf rubbings, bird watching, pond creatures, nature crafts, and salsa making.  Expect to be outdoors the entire afternoon, with shady areas available.

Bring the whole family, your friend groups, your officemates, and especially that person who thinks nature is “yucky” and show them otherwise. This is an unsupervised event, so if you need assistance for your disability, bring a caregiver. No need to register.
