The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis have paired up to provide three exciting programs for persons with disabilities and their families/care providers and friends. Mark your calendars now for these 2024 & 2025 programs! These programs are FREE but you MUST register at least one week prior to the program dates. Winter Bird Walk: Saturday, December 7, 2024, 10 a.m.—12 noon at the Audubon Center, West Alton, MO
Take a winter’s walk to see the amazing eagles, trumpeter swans, pelicans, duck and geese found at the Audubon Center in West Alton, MO. We will meet at the visitor’s center and the walk will be led by Missouri Conservation Department volunteers who will provide information about the various waterfowl and other creatures found in the area. Bring your binoculars, and dress according to the weather. The paved trail is accessible to everyone. Register by November 30th.
Learn to Fish: Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10 a.m.—12 noon at Busch Conservation Area, St. Charles, MO
Join us for fishing at Busch Wildlife Area, Lake 15 in St. Charles County! Learn to fish, reel in a keeper and just enjoy being in nature. This is an ADA program which means participants will be covered by a fishing license exemption. Fishing equipment and bait will be provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This is a popular event! Register by April 19th before the program fills up!
Photo Walk: Saturday, June 7, 2025, 10 a.m.—12 noon at Forest Park, St. Louis, MO
Bring a camera or your cellphone and capture some photos of nature’s best as we take a hike on some of Forest Park’s trails. Missouri Department of Conservation staff will help you and give you tips as you photograph birds, animals, insects and plants while we meander through some beautiful areas of the St. Louis’ neighborhood park. The trails are not fully paved but we can assist individuals with access. It will be a relaxed jaunt and we will take several stops along the trails. Register by May 31st!
