Family Support Services / People First Self-Advocacy
The FACT Family Support program is designed to help families who have a child with a disability as they manage life’s challenges. A Parent Support Partner visits you at home and give you emotional and practical support to help you access community services such as health care, special education, recreation, housing, caretakers, employment and finances, and more. For adults with disabilities, FACT supports People First, a national organization that is run by, and for, people who have a developmental disability. Members of People First are empowered to self-advocate so that they can affect positive change at all levels of society.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding
Exceptional Equestrians of the Missouri Valley, Inc. (EEMV) is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization that provides enjoyable, affordable horsemanship experiences for therapeutic effect, developing and strengthening mind, body and spirit. We serve individuals with disabilities ages 2 and up with a wide range of diagnosis from autism to down syndrome to ADHD. We offer therapeutic riding and vaulting, a military veteran program, and summer camp for children.

Therapeutic Horseback & Riding Lessons
TREE House has provided award-winning equestrian therapy programs for individuals, ages 2 and up, with disabilities since 1975. The day camp, Camp Champ, is open to children ages 5 and up of all abilities and horse experience.

YMCA Inclusion Services
The Gateway Region YMCA
The YMCA offers a wide variety of programs for adults and youth, including sports, swimming lessons, swim teams, break camps, special events, a 12-week inclusive summer camp for children, and integrated school-age child care. Financial assistance is available to reduce the membership fee for low income families and individuals. Additional supports are provided for children with disabilities at the summer camps at no charge. To learn more about specialized services, call the Inclusion Services Department.
