Rachel Hickey

St. Louis County Coordinator

Rachel joined the Recreation Council in October 2025 and brings over 25 years of experience in education, disability rights, and youth and community development to her role as St. Louis County Coordinator. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to creating inclusive and equitable opportunities for people of all abilities to thrive, connect, and contribute. Before joining the Recreation Council, Rachel served in a variety of leadership roles in nonprofit and higher education settings, where she managed programs, developed training initiatives, and built strong partnerships with families, educators, and community organizations. Her work has consistently centered on advancing inclusion and ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to meaningful opportunities and supports. Her commitment to the Council’s mission is also personal – Rachel is a proud parent of children who have directly benefited from the Recreation Council’s programs and resources. She is honored to now play a role in expanding those opportunities for other families across St. Louis County. Rachel also loves traveling, immersing herself in nature, and spending time with her beloved family, friends, and four dogs.
