Tennis Lessons for Those with Down Syndrome
The Jensen-Schmidt Tennis Academy is designed to meet the sport specific needs of children and young adults with Down Syndrome. Through a high level of motivational exercises and positive attitudes, our staff is dedicated to giving our students training in tennis, all the while having fun and building relationships. Our day camp comes to the St. Louis metro area one week per summer.

Gateway Tykes on Trykes
Gateway Tykes on Trykes is a group of local Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapists along with local families dedicated to providing adapted tricycles to children in the St. Louis area and surrounding communites by raising funds for and assessing for, proper fit of the AmTryke® therapeutic trike to children & others who are otherwise unable to ride a regular bike.

Whether this is your first time paddling or you’re a bonafide river rat, Big Muddy Adventures has a trip for you. We offer a wide range of options, from hour-long paddles to multi-day expeditions to private island dinners on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Campers have fun while playing sports, creating arts and crafts, singing around the campfire, paddling a boat, and making new friends. For many people, this may be their first chance to spend a night away from home. We encourage attendees to be active participants in their own care as well as their continued development of independence. Most importantly, the prescription for camp is fun! We serve youth ages 7-19 and adults 20 and older with sessions divided by age group allowing the staff to provide age-appropriate programming.

Camp Encourage
Specialized Youth Overnight Camp
Camp Encourage provides youth ages 8-18 who have autism with meaningful overnight camp experience in which they build the knowledge, courage, and skills to be empowered participants in the community. Our camp takes place at Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood, KS, about one hour west of Kansas City, MO. Sensory Room Development and Consultation
The Synapsory specializes in assisting churches and community groups to develop sensory rooms that provide rest, regulation, and renewal for special needs families. We’ve helped people in St. Louis City, Hazelwood, Kirkwood, Chesterfield, Ellisville, South St. Louis County, and Wentzville MO. Illinois locations include Edwardsville and Freeburg IL.

Concordia Lutheran Church
Concordia’s Special Needs Ministry offers a weekly Bible fellowship class for adults with special needs ages 18 and up. The class will begin with Biblical instruction delivered in a way that is accessible to adults with special learning needs. Concordia also has a youth programs for special needs including a Buddy Ministry, Deaf Ministry, sensory room, and summer VBS for kids with special needs.
